Which inline fan do I need?
An inline fan should replace the air in your tent about once a minute. Too small and heat and humidity build up; too big and you waste power and noise. Use the calculator, then add the correction factors.
Why one air change per minute
LEDs and plants both add heat; moving the full volume every minute keeps the tent within 5–8 °F of the room.
Filters, ducting and bends cost airflow
a carbon filter adds about 25 % resistance; every 90° bend about 5 %. Size the fan after those losses, not before.
Match the filter to the fan
pick a filter rated at or above the fan's CFM so the fan runs at mid speed and stays quiet.
Controllers
a fan controller with a temperature/humidity probe lets a larger fan run slowly most of the time and ramp up only when needed.
